They say friends bring joy and excitement to life, but what if that same friend betrays you, if a close friend becomes your enemy? What if life's ups and downs bring us many people. Some become our close friends, some our best friends. But what if the friend we trusted suddenly turns into our enemy and stabs us in the back? In such difficult situations, Vrindavan's spiritual guru, Shri Premananda Maharaj, has shown us a simple and mysterious way to handle the situation with peace of mind.
Through his discourses, Premanand Maharaj offers simple solutions to people's difficult, real problems. Recently, in response to a devotee's question, he clarified, "If someone harbors a grudge against you, don't be hostile toward them. Retaliation through violence will never bring peace. Rather, it is wise to completely avoid such a person.
Explaining spiritual and practical matters, Maharaj said that each person's karma determines their destiny. If a friend tries to harm you, they are actually harming their own karma. Therefore, remain calm, trust in God and your good deeds. If someone does something wrong, they will be punished according to the laws of nature, and you don't need to mess up your own actions, he reminded.
Usually, betrayal by a friend makes people angry and sad, and they seek revenge. But according to Maharaj, the greatest strength in such a situation is to remain calm and control one's tongue. "Don't speak harsh words in anger or take revenge," Maharaj said. "Your silence will be the strongest answer that will reach him."
We burn ourselves in the fire of revenge and cause mental harm. Therefore, Maharaj advises that we should let go of a friend who instills hatred. Don't be upset, learn from your mistakes, move on in life, and place your mind at the feet of God. For, the Almighty God sees everything and is the final judge, he advised.
