India has released explosive evidence exposing the direct links between top Pakistani military and police officials and internationally designated terror outfits, following its precision air campaign under Operation Sindoor.
Launched on May 7 in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, Operation Sindoor targeted nine key terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Pakistani Officers at Terrorists’ Funeral
In a major diplomatic salvo, Indian officials released a photograph showing senior Pakistani Army and police officials attending the state funeral of slain terrorists in Muridke—a town housing Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) headquarters, Markaz Taiba.
Those identified in the image include:
- Lt Gen Fayyaz Hussain Shah, Commander, IV Corps, Lahore
- Maj Gen Rao Imran Sartaj, 11th Infantry Division
- Brig Mohd Furqan Shabbir
- Dr Usman Anwar, Inspector General, Punjab Police
- Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bherth, Member of Punjab Provincial Assembly
According to Indian officials, the funeral was conducted with full state honours, with coffins of LeT operatives draped in Pakistan’s national flag. The funeral prayers were led by Abdul Rauf, a US-designated global terrorist and senior LeT commander.
Operation Sindoor Targets High-Value Terror Camps
Among the nine key sites hit during Operation Sindoor were:
- Markaz Taiba, Muridke – LeT HQ where Ajmal Kasab was trained
- Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur – JeM facility
- Mehmoona Joya Facility, Sialkot – Linked to Hizbul Mujahideen
India confirmed that over 100 terrorists were eliminated, many of them high-ranking operatives. Key targets included:
- Khalid alias Abu Akasha – LeT handler operating between Afghanistan and Pakistan, involved in weapons smuggling
- Mudassir Khadian Khas (Abu Jundal) – In charge of Muridke camp; had links to the 2008 Mumbai attackers
- Mohammad Hassan Khan – Son of JeM’s PoK commander Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri; operated from Syedna Bilal camp with Pulwama attack suspect Ashiq Negroo
India Slams ‘State Funerals’ for Terrorists
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri condemned Pakistan's actions, saying:
“This image—of uniformed officers praying behind terrorist coffins wrapped in the national flag—sends a chilling message to the world.”
Misri also rejected Pakistan’s claims of civilian casualties in the strikes, saying:
“It’s odd that civilian funerals are conducted with military honours and led by known global terrorists.”
