WhatsApp New Feature: WhatsApp is constantly working on new and useful features for its users. In this regard, the company is now testing a feature that will make the group chat experience easier. This new feature is called '@all' or 'Mention Everyone,' which will allow users to tag an entire group at once.

What is WhatsApp's '@All' feature?

The new '@all' feature has currently been spotted in WhatsApp Beta for Android (version 2.25.31.9) and is being rolled out to some beta testers via the Google Play Store. The feature was previously spotted in development, but is now visible within the mention menu. It allows users to alert entire groups simultaneously, ensuring they don't miss important messages, even if a member has muted notifications.

How will the new '@All' feature work?

Whenever the '@all' command is used in a group chat, this feature will tag every member of the group without having to mention each one individually. This will be especially useful for large groups, teams, communities, and family groups where many messages often get overlooked. This feature aims to improve group communication and facilitate the delivery of important messages.

Who will get the right to use it?

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has set some limits on its use. In small groups (up to 32 members), everyone will be able to use '@all'. In larger groups (more than 32 members), only group admins will be allowed to use this feature. This rule is intended to prevent spam and unwanted notifications.

Notification controls for users

WhatsApp is also working on an additional setting that will allow users to mute '@all' mentions. This option will be especially useful for those who are part of multiple active groups. This feature can be turned on or off in the group's notification settings to ensure important alerts are not missed, but also to avoid repeated notifications.

When will everyone get this feature?

The @all feature is currently available to beta testers and will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks. Once testing is complete, the feature will be rolled out to Android users and then iOS users in a stable version.

With this update, WhatsApp aims to balance convenience and control in group chats, ensuring seamless conversations and complete control over notifications.
