Aadhaar Update: India's Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) is now going to bring a big facility for Aadhaar users.

Aadhaar Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is rolling out a major convenience for Aadhaar users. Soon, people will be able to update their Aadhaar address and mobile number from the comfort of their homes using the Aadhaar app. This will eliminate the need to visit an enrollment centre, carry documents, or stand in long queues.
Now you will not have to visit the Aadhaar centre.
Currently, changing your mobile number or address requires visiting an Aadhaar centre, where identity verification and document submission are required. This process proves to be quite challenging for the elderly, the disabled, and those living in remote areas. UIDAI's new feature aims to alleviate these challenges, making the update process faster, easier, and completely digital.

The Aadhaar app will have a digital verification facility.
UIDAI posted on Twitter that digital authentication will soon be available in the Aadhaar app for updating mobile numbers and addresses. Address updates will be completely online, while changing mobile numbers will require OTP verification and face authentication.
How will the online update process be completed?
The new feature will involve two-stage verification. First, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the user's existing or new mobile number. Next, the app will perform face authentication, matching live face data with Aadhaar records. This will securely verify identity without any documents.
Users will need to enter their Aadhaar number, select their preferred language, verify their OTP, and complete face authentication. Furthermore, they will need to set a 6-digit security PIN in the app for enhanced security.
This feature is coming soon.
UIDAI has stated that this feature will be released soon. Users are advised to install the Aadhaar app (available on both Android and iOS) on their smartphones now. All updates related to the feature launch will be shared on UIDAI's official channels. This move is considered a major step towards making Aadhaar services completely digital and user-friendly.
