Whenever elections in Bihar are discussed, two names often come to the forefront: Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar. Education of CM Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar, the current Chief Minister of Bihar, was born on March 1, 1951, in Bakhtiyarpur. He grew up in a very humble family. He completed his early education at the local school in Bakhtiyarpur. From childhood, he was a bright student and showed a special interest in science.
He later enrolled at Bihar College of Engineering (now NIT Patna) and earned a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering in 1972. Nitish Kumar became active in student politics during his college days.
After completing his degree, he worked for a while at the Bihar State Electricity Board, but soon his interest turned to politics. Inspired by the movement of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, he entered active politics in the 1970s.
Education of former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Chief Minister of Bihar and founder of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), was born in Phulwaria village, Gopalganj district, on June 11, 1948. Coming from a poor farming family, Lalu Prasad Yadav's childhood was filled with struggles, but he had a passion for education from an early age.
He completed his early education at the village government school and then enrolled at B.N. College in Patna, where he earned a BA (undergraduate) degree. He then earned an LLB from Patna Law College. During his college days, Lalu Prasad Yadav became so active in student politics that he soon became the general secretary of the Patna University Students' Union and was later elected president. This student politics made him popular among the public and marked the beginning of his political career.
