How does this feature work?

Let's say you're planning a vacation. Gemini can pull flight booking information from your Gmail, view screenshots of locations saved in Photos, and add trending destinations based on videos you've watched on YouTube. This way, you don't have to open different apps to gather information, and Gemini automatically combines everything into a complete plan.

Can there be mistakes in this?

Google has acknowledged that this feature isn't completely perfect. Sometimes it can over-personalize and draw incorrect conclusions. For example, if many of your photos are of golf courses, Gemini might assume you like golf when the real reason might be something else. In such cases, users can directly correct Gemini.

How secure is your privacy?

According to the company, Gemini doesn't train directly on your Gmail or Photos data. It's limited to the questions and answers you provide. It also tries to avoid making unnecessary assumptions about sensitive topics.

How to setup in India?

This feature is currently rolling out to select users (AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans) and will gradually expand to everyone. Notably, app connections are disabled by default, meaning you'll be able to choose which apps to add.
