The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have won the CPL 2026 title. The team from Antigua defeated the Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets in the final to lift the Caribbean Premier League trophy for the first time. The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are the seventh team to win the CPL title. The Trinbago Knight Riders have won the most CPL titles, five times.
The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons finished second in the points table with 13 points. This secured their second-place finish and earned them a direct entry into Qualifier 1. In Qualifier 1, the Falcons dismissed the Guyana Amazon Warriors for 76 runs, finishing the match in just 32 balls to advance to the final.
Falcons became champions
In the CPL 2026 final, played on the morning of September 21st, Indian time, Jamaica Kingsmen batted first and scored 170 runs. Pakistani player Maz Sadaqat scored 114 runs off 58 balls. Sam Ayub was the only other Jamaican batsman to reach double figures, scoring 29 runs. Nine Jamaican batsmen failed to reach double figures.
Chasing the target, the Falcons, led by Moeen Ali, conceded 20 runs in the first over before being dismissed on the last ball of the same over. Evin Lewis and Amir Jangoo then shared a 64-run partnership for the second wicket. Amir remained unbeaten on 57, while Hasan Nawaz also contributed 47 runs to help the Falcons win. Sam Ayub and captain Rovman Powell were heavily battered by the bowling.
CPL got its seventh champion
The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons became the seventh team in Caribbean Premier League history to win the title. Previously, the Trinbago Knight Riders (5 times), the Jamaica Tallawahs (3 times), the Barbados Tridents (2 times), and the Guyana Amazon Warriors, the St. Neots and Nevis Patriots, and the St. Lucia Kings have each won the Caribbean Premier League trophy once. The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons now add the seventh team to this list of champions.
