Models cannot become good actors - Rohman
He said, 'This was a big shock for them. It shocked me a lot because there was already a notion that models cannot become good actors. This thinking took me away from films and I started focusing completely on modeling.' Rohman said that his favorite model-turned-actors Muzammil Ibrahim, John Abraham, Arjun Rampal and Milind Soman also faced the same problem. He said, 'It is always assumed that people who look beautiful cannot be good actors.'
Got a chance to prove myself through 'Amaran'
Talking further, he said, 'Less attention is paid to their acting skills. There were many talented people, but they were labeled as 'just a beautiful model'. This problem still exists today and I also had to go through it. I wanted to break this notion through 'Amraan'. In the film, Rohman is seen in the role of a dreaded terrorist. He considered this film to be the biggest test of his career. Rohman said, 'I was cast as a villain in the film, which was completely different from my real life'.
I had to get out of the 'model' image
He said, 'This was a big opportunity for me. If I had not succeeded in this, my acting journey could have ended. I just had to come out of the image of a 'good-looking model'. Rohman also said that Amraan completely changed him as a person. He said, 'The love and appreciation I got for the film gave me confidence. It means a lot to me and I cannot express it in words. Amraan and Aazadi (his recent short film) are two completely different stories.'
