In this match being played in New Chandigarh, Punjab Kings were invited to bat first after losing the toss. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh once again gave Punjab a quick start, adding 37 runs in just 17 balls. However, Priyansh was dismissed for 29 runs off 11 balls. Marcus Stoinis's whirlwind

Cooper Connolly contributed 30 runs, and captain Shreyas Iyer also scored the same number. At one point, reaching 200 seemed difficult for the Punjab Kings. Punjab had scored 150 runs in 15 overs. The next two overs yielded only 17 runs, and the run rate began to slow. Therefore, it seemed difficult for Punjab to cross the 200-run mark.

Then Marcus Stoinis went on a rampage, raining fours and sixes. Stoinis hit four fours and six sixes in his 62-run innings, which came off just 22 balls. Stoinis alone scored 24 runs in the final over, bowled by Brijesh Sharma.

Jofra Archer created history.

Rajasthan Royals' Jofra Archer has now equaled Kagiso Rabada for the most wickets taken in the power play. Archer has taken nine wickets in the power play so far in IPL 2026. Archer equaled Rabada's record by dismissing Priyansh Arya.
