Mamta Kulkarni: Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni is once again in the headlines. Actually, she had resigned from her post of Mahamandaleshwar 3 days ago. Now a video of her is going viral on social media, in which she is telling that she has again joined the Kinnar Akhara.

Mamta Kulkarni Rejoins Kinnar Akhada: Actress Mamta Kulkarni, who ruled the hearts of her fans from Hindi cinema for decades, is once again in the headlines. In fact, if reports are to be believed, she has once again taken the post of Mahamandaleshwar in Kinnar Akhada. Yes, on Friday, she confirmed her return by releasing a video statement. Mamta told that Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi of Kinnar Akhada has rejected her resignation.  

Therefore, she has decided to return to the Akhara and serve Sanatan Dharma. In the video, Mamta said, 'Two days ago, some people had made false allegations against my guru Dr. Acharya Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. Hurt by this, I emotionally resigned. But my guru did not accept it. The clothes, Raj Chhatra, Danda and other religious things that were offered at the time of becoming Mahamandaleshwar will remain dedicated to the Akhara. I am grateful to my guru that he gave me this responsibility again'. 

Laxmi Narayan Tripathi's resignation accepted 

She concluded by saying, 'Now I will be completely dedicated to Kinnar Akhara and Sanatan Dharma'. Earlier this month, Mamta took sanyaas during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 held in Prayagraj. She dedicated herself to the Sanatan tradition by offering Pind Daan at Sangam. After this, she was given the title of Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara. After taking sanyaas, she changed her name to 'Shri Yamai Mamta Nand Giri' and resolved to adopt a spiritual life.

It is difficult to return to the film world 

In her recent interview, Mamta made it clear that it is now difficult for her to return to cinema. Talking to India Today, she said, 'Now I cannot even imagine returning to films. It is completely impossible'. She described her spiritual journey as very satisfying and described the joy of receiving the title of Mahamandaleshwar as similar to winning an Olympic medal. However, 3 days ago, Mamta had announced her resignation from the post of Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara. 

Resigned amid growing controversy 

Sharing a video on social media, she said, 'I am resigning from the post of Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara. I have been a Sadhvi since childhood and will continue my spiritual journey as a Sadhvi'. The voices of protest raised within the Akhara are believed to be the reason behind her decision. According to some reports, differences had increased between the founder of Kinnar Akhara, Ajay Das, and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. Mamta resigned amidst this controversy.
