The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues and identified three key areas to advance the partnership. Takaichi stated that the first goal is to further deepen India-Japan strategic cooperation. The Japanese PM stated that a destroyer from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and an Indian Navy ship are planning to conduct joint operations. Joint exercises in the Indian Ocean will be expanded. Cooperation in naval maintenance, repair, and defense equipment under the "Make in India" initiative will be strengthened.

New era partnership
