Iran War: According to Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (Marketing and Oil Refinery), the impact of the conflict in West Asia is already visible in India.

The government took major steps to resolve the APG crisis.
Middle East Tensions: The rising tensions in the Middle East are having a direct impact on India. Despite the government's numerous promises, the LPG crisis has created new difficulties for the people. The situation is such that businesses ranging from restaurants to industrial areas are on the verge of closure due to the LPG shortage. As a result, the government has decided to adopt alternative measures to address this situation.
Amid disruptions in energy supply, the government says it is making serious efforts to normalise the situation, as tensions in the Middle East have severely affected energy supply and put pressure on the availability of LPG.
India came up with a new trick.
According to Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the impact of the conflict in West Asia is already being felt in India. She explained that approximately 90 percent of India's LPG imports used to flow through the Strait of Hormuz, and the disruption of this route has created a significant problem. To address this situation, India is now importing LPG from the United States.
Additionally, LNG is being supplied from countries like Australia and Russia. He said the government is also working on alternative energy sources to normalize supplies.
The worrying situation of LPG
He also acknowledged that despite government efforts, LPG supply remains under pressure. Although online booking has improved, with approximately 93 percent of consumers using digital platforms, long queues for gas are still prevalent in many areas. He urged consumers to be patient and wait for home delivery instead of visiting distributors.
It is noteworthy that the global situation has now become extremely serious. Following the joint US-Israeli offensive against Iran, the scope of the conflict is steadily expanding. The focus of attacks has now shifted to energy infrastructure, targeting oil and gas production plants. This is the first time such direct attacks have been carried out by both sides on vital energy assets.
