He revealed in a podcast that he had decided to withdraw from the ongoing edition. The Australian spinner feels he is not being paid his fair share. He is currently playing in the Pakistan Super League.

Speaking on the ARY podcast, Zampa said that he doesn't get paid commensurate with his talent compared to other players. He also cited the league's length as a reason for his withdrawal. He said, "I withdrew from the IPL this year because I wasn't getting paid what other talented players get. Considering the amount of time it takes, it didn't seem like a wise decision to play in it."

34-year-old Adam Zampa was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad last year for ₹2.40 crore (approximately $1.5 million USD). This was his highest IPL salary. He has previously played for three teams but failed to play all the matches in any of the editions. He failed to impress in the IPL. He made his IPL debut in 2016 and bowled well for Rising Pune Supergiants in his first season, taking 12 wickets in five matches. In 2017, he took seven wickets in six matches.

In 2020, Zampa played for RCB, taking 2 wickets in 3 matches. In 2023, he played for the Rajasthan Royals, taking 8 wickets in 6 matches. In 2025, he played in only 2 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking 2 wickets.

Adam Zampa plays for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, captained by his compatriot David Warner. He was acquired by the Karachi Kings for ₹4.5 crore (approximately ₹1.51 crore in Indian currency). Zampa said he had considered taking a break for a while, but then an offer came from the Pakistan Super League, and he decided to play.
