Husband Committing Suicide Due To Wife: The case of Atul Subhash's death is yet to be resolved and another incident in Karnataka has shocked everyone. After which, questions have again been raised on family relationships and the serious consequences of harassment. A 40-year-old man in Hooghly, Karnataka, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his house, upset with the harassment of his wife. The incident took place on Sunday in Chamundeshwari Nagar. Petaru Gollapalli, who works in a private firm, has also left a suicide note accusing his wife of harassment.
What was written in the suicide note?
In the suicide note, Petaru Gollapalli wrote to his father, "Dad, forgive me." He further blamed his wife and said, "My wife Pinky is killing me, she wants me to die... I am dying because of my wife's torture." The note also mentioned that when he dies, it should be written on his coffin that his death was due to his wife's torture. Fulfilling the son's last wish, the family wrote "My death was due to my wife's torture" on his coffin.
Married two years ago, quarrel after three months
Initial investigation has revealed that the couple got married two years ago and after three months of marriage, they started living separately after continuous quarrels. His wife has also filed for divorce and demanded Rs 20 lakh as alimony.
What does the husband's family have to say?
Family members said that he and his wife were going through marital discord for the last three months. Eshayya said that Petaru used to work in a private firm but lost his job three months ago. Speaking to reporters, the victim's brother Eshayya said that since it was Sunday, everyone had gone to church and when they returned home in the afternoon, they found his brother hanging. Demanding justice for his brother, he said "We want justice for our brother.
Demand raised to arrest the wife
That woman (deceased's wife) should be arrested. No one should suffer like my brother. He said, "His elder brother also beat him and a police report has also been lodged in this regard." Police said that based on the complaint of the victim's brother, a case has been registered against his wife under Section 108 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway.
