The message, designed to scare people, states that their bank account has been linked to suspicious transactions. It urges them to provide financial details to prevent further account blockage, and that failing to do so within three days will result in account blockage. The government has now warned people that this message is fake.

The post advises against clicking on suspicious links or downloading unknown APK files. The RBI only communicates on WhatsApp via two blue-ticked numbers: 99309 91935 and 99990 41935.
