Friends, as we all know that the Indian government runs various types of government schemes for the economically weaker people of their country, whose aim is to help these people and improve the lifestyle, one such scheme is Ujjwala Yojana, under which domestic gas cylinders are given to women for less money and free of cost, in such a situation, as per the promise made in the election manifesto of the BJP, the Uttar Pradesh government, now eligible women across the state will get free LPG gas cylinders under the Ujjwala Yojana. What has been announced?

1.75 crore women beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh will get free LPG cylinders before Diwali.

This initiative is part of the BJP's Jan Sankalp promise made during the last assembly elections.

Free cylinders will also be given on Holi, so that this benefit will be available every two years.

Funding and subsidy details

A total of ₹3,301.74 crore was allocated in the state budget for this scheme.

₹660 per cylinder will be deposited by the UP government in the bank account of each beneficiary.

Also, the central government has increased the subsidy of Ujjwala Yojana from ₹200 to ₹300 per cylinder.

How will it work?

This scheme is applicable only for the beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana.

Each eligible family will get one 14.2 kg cylinder free every quarter.

First, the beneficiary has to pay for the cylinder in advance.

Within 5 days, the reimbursement will be transferred to the beneficiary's account by the oil companies.

The benefit is limited to one connection per household.
