4 former Bangladeshi players have returned from India. This matter is related to the Asian Legends League, which is being hosted by India. Teams of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Asian Stars were participating in this tournament, but due to the return of Bangladeshi players to their home country, only 4 teams are left in the tournament.
Bangladesh team returns from Asian Legends League
The four Bangladeshi players who have returned to their country are Mohammad Ashraful, Ilyas Sunny, Mohammad Nazimuddin and Naim Islam. According to Bangladeshi media, the team of former Bangladeshi cricketers left for India on March 9.
Bangladesh was to play its first match on March 10, all the players were excited to play in the Asian Legends League. Bangladesh's first match was to be played with India Royals in Udaipur on March 10, while the next day it was to play a match against Afghanistan. But Bangladesh Tigers could not play a single match in the tournament.
Why did Bangladesh players return?
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had ordered its players to return to their country. The BCB took this decision after getting information that the Asian Legends League tournament was not recognized by the ICC and BCCI.
Mohammad Ashraful was going to captain the Bangladesh Tigers in this tournament. On returning to his country, he said, "We were going to participate in the Asian Legends League, but the ICC did not approve this tournament. So we will not play now and are returning to our country.
Let us tell you that South African legend Harshal Gibbs was made the coach of Bangladesh Tigers, but Gibbs has expressed his displeasure on social media over this decision of BCB.
