Diwali Special Trains: If you are planning to travel from Delhi, the capital of the country, to Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, then this news is very useful for you. Anticipating the heavy rush of passengers during this festive season, Indian Railways is operating several special superfast and express trains from Delhi and Anand Vihar Terminal to Ayodhya.
During Diwali, the rush for tickets on routes to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar increases significantly. Therefore, it's crucial to know the schedules and new ticket booking methods for these special trains to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey.
Major Superfast and Express trains from Delhi to Ayodhya
The Anand Vihar-Ayodhya Dham Vande Bharat Express, which runs from Anand Vihar Terminal to Ayodhya Dham, is the most affordable and premium option. This train operates six days a week, except Wednesdays, departing Anand Vihar at 6:10 AM and arriving at Ayodhya Dham at 2:30 PM.
Additionally, the daily Ayodhya Express from Old Delhi Railway Station is a very popular train, departing at 6:20 PM and arriving in Ayodhya at 7:15 AM the next morning. The daily Kaifiyat Superfast Express from Anand Vihar Terminal is also a popular means of transport for travelers, departing at 8:25 PM and arriving at Ayodhya Dham Station at 6:52 AM the next day.
Railways is running special festival trains
Due to heavy bookings on regular trains, the Railways is also running festival special trains this Diwali season. Several weekly special trains are running from Delhi, New Delhi, and Anand Vihar via Lucknow to Ayodhya.
The primary purpose of these trains is to provide confirmed seats to passengers who are unable to secure tickets on regular express trains due to long waiting lists. You can check the schedules and coach details of these festival special trains live through the National Train Inquiry System.
Follow this method to get a confirmed ticket.
Using the IRCTC app or website is considered the safest way to book tickets for both Tatkal and General quotas this Diwali. Under IRCTC's new rules, it is now mandatory for passengers to verify their account's mobile number and email address before booking tickets.
To save time when booking Tatkal tickets, it's wise to save passengers' names, ages, and Aadhaar card details in advance by accessing IRCTC's My Master List feature. This will auto-fill passenger details within seconds once the Tatkal quota opens at 10 a.m. for AC coaches and at 11 a.m. for sleeper coaches, significantly increasing your chances of getting a confirmed ticket.
