Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) had used former cricketer Sourav Ganguly to convey a message to MP Yusuf Pathan to resign from the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat, paving the way for Mamata Banerjee's election to Parliament in the future. However, Sourav Ganguly has completely denied these reports.

Sourav Ganguly dismissed these allegations as false and misleading, stating that he had never spoken to Yusuf Pathan or forwarded any political messages. He added that Mamata Banerjee had not asked him to deliver such a message, nor was he involved in any political matters.

Ganguly said that publishing such news without verification is completely wrong. He appealed to the media to thoroughly verify the facts before publishing any information. He also expressed displeasure that the allegations made in the published report were made without verifying their veracity.
