Deepti Sharma equaled Jhulan Goswami's record of 355 wickets in women's international cricket. India defeated the Netherlands to reclaim the top spot.

Indian cricket all-rounder Deepti Sharma has achieved a major milestone in women's international cricket . She has equaled the record for most international wickets held by former Indian fast bowler Jhulan Goswami. Deepti achieved this feat during the Women's T20 World Cup Group A match against the Netherlands women's cricket team. In the match played in Leeds, she bowled three overs, conceding 26 runs, and took one wicket. With this wicket, her total number of wickets in international cricket reached 355. Now, both Deepti Sharma and Jhulan Goswami have 355 wickets each.

Big jump in the list of highest wicket takers

Deepti and Jhulan share the top spot in the list of bowlers with the most wickets in women's international cricket. They are followed by Katherine Sciver-Brunt with 335 wickets. Ellyse Perry is fourth on the list with 332 wickets, while Sophie Ecclestone has taken 327 wickets. South African fast bowler Shabnim Ishmail is next on the list with 318 wickets.

Excellent figures in ODIs and T20s too

Deepti Sharma's performance in ODI cricket has been consistently impressive. She has taken 166 wickets in 124 matches and is India's second-most successful bowler in this format. She is only surpassed on this list by Jhulan Goswami, who has 255 wickets. Deepti's dominance is even more pronounced in T20 International cricket. She has taken 167 wickets in 146 matches, making her the world's leading wicket-taker in this format. Furthermore, she has also taken 22 wickets in the six Test matches she has played for India.
