After buying a big gourd from the market, it is difficult to use it all at once. In such a situation, keeping the chopped gourd fresh is no less than a challenge. However, Shipra Rai has told an easy way, which can keep the gourd fresh for 2 weeks.

Bottle gourd is a vegetable that is used a lot in Indian homes. Even if half the people in the house do not like to eat it, it is still cooked. But if you buy a large size bottle gourd from the market, it often becomes difficult to use it all at once. In such a situation, if the half left over bottle gourd is kept in the fridge, it starts drying or spoiling quickly.
But do you know that in an easy way you can keep the chopped bottle gourd absolutely fresh for two weeks? Yes, the secret is foil paper! Actually, content creator Shipra Rai has told the right way to keep the bottle gourd in the fridge to keep it fresh. So let's know how to use foil paper.
First know the reason for the damage.
As everyone knows that the water content in bottle gourd is very high. When it is cut, its inner surface comes in contact with air, due to which the moisture starts evaporating from it, and it starts drying. Also, the bacteria present in the air also attack the bottle gourd, due to which it gets spoiled quickly.
Why only foil paper will work
Aluminium foil paper acts as an excellent barrier. It prevents the gourd from coming in direct contact with air, due to which the moisture remains trapped inside and bacteria are also unable to reach it. It also protects the gourd from the cold air of the refrigerator, which can dry it out.
Do this before keeping it in the fridge
First of all, wash the remaining gourd thoroughly with clean water. Make sure that there is no dirt or mud on the gourd. Now wipe the gourd with a clean cloth or kitchen towel and dry it completely. There should not be even a drop of water on the gourd, otherwise it can get spoiled quickly due to moisture.

How to store gourd in the fridge
According to Shipra Rai's trick , wrap the cut end of the gourd tightly with a large piece of foil paper. During this, make sure that the cut part is completely covered and no air can enter from anywhere. If you want, you can wrap the entire gourd properly in foil paper.
And, to make it safer, you can keep the gourd wrapped in foil paper in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge. However, even without a container, the gourd will not spoil.
