LPG Ships of India: The Petroleum Ministry said that to maintain LPG supply in the country, more than 58 lakh domestic cylinders were distributed in a day, while the availability of commercial LPG increased to 70%.

Iran War Hormuz Update LPG Ship: The Ministry of Petroleum has shared important information, monitoring the supply and demand situation for essential commodities like gas, petrol, and chemicals in the country. According to the ministry, continuous efforts are being made to maintain a smooth supply of LPG, resulting in the distribution of over 5.8 million domestic LPG cylinders in a single day. Meanwhile, the availability of commercial LPG has also increased to nearly 70 percent, providing relief to the market.
The ministry reported that 6,700 tons of commercial LPG were sold in a single day, equivalent to approximately 3.5 lakh cylinders, while approximately 1.06 lakh 5 kg cylinders were also sold. Furthermore, 95 percent of natural gas supplies to fertilizer plants are being ensured, and daily LPG production has reached 48,000 tons.
Medicine prices stable, LPG ship transits Hormuz
Meanwhile, global supplies in the chemical and fertilizer sectors have been affected, impacting the raw materials for some pharmaceuticals, but there has been no increase in drug prices. A shipping update stated that a ship carrying LPG transited the Strait of Hormuz on April 5th, which is expected to further improve supplies.
Advised safe return for Indians – Ministry of External Affairs
The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that no discussions have yet taken place between India and Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The Ministry also stated that India has been supplying energy products to Bangladesh for several years and that approximately 7,500 Indian citizens are currently stationed in Iran.
The ministry said that in view of the current peace and ceasefire situation, Indian citizens can return to India via Armenia or Azerbaijan in a safe environment, while any comment regarding the Defence Minister of Pakistan was refused.
