Big blow to Apple, this model of the iPhone 17 series flopped, not getting customers.

The iPhone 17 models launched last month have been well-received. Demand for some models has exceeded Apple's expectations. However, the iPhone Air has failed to generate such demand.

Apple launched the iPhone 17 series last month, consisting of the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Pro Max models. The series generated widespread excitement. Pre-bookings broke records as soon as they began, forcing Apple to ramp up production of some models to cope with the demand. Some models were so popular that they went out of stock during pre-booking. However, this wasn't the case with the iPhone Air, which is seeing fewer customers than the company had anticipated.

iPhone Air loses its shine

Morgan Stanley analysts say that all but one model of the iPhone 17 series is experiencing strong demand. Sales are exceeding expectations. This data is based on shipping estimates from the Apple supply chain and online store. Meanwhile, demand for the iPhone Air is not seeing strong demand. This demand is lower than expected, and a major reason for this is the iPhone's lack of launch in China. Another major reason is its small battery. Some people also do not like the battery.

The iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone ever.

At 5.6mm thick, the iPhone Air is Apple's thinnest model to date. It features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. It's powered by the same A19 Pro chipset as the Pro model, built on a 3nm process. It features a 48MP Fusion camera on the rear and an 18MP Center Stage camera on the front. It only supports eSIM, which is why it hasn't been launched in China. The phone hasn't yet received regulatory approval in China.
