PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport on Saturday. During the ceremony, he heaped praise on Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who is also a BJP MP from Kota, Rajasthan

Birla worked with a spirit of service for the development of Kota: Modi
During the airport's foundation stone laying ceremony, Narendra Modi said, "I want to commend Kota MP Om Birla for his tireless efforts to secure this important project. He has always strived to improve the lives of Kota's people and provide them with new opportunities. Whether it's the airport, the new IIIT campus, or the expansion of roads, he has worked with a spirit of service for Kota's development. His efforts are fueling the development of Kota and the entire region."
PM Modi said that the Lok Sabha Speaker is an excellent speaker and parliamentarian. He is dedicated to the Constitution and the parliamentary system. He also praised his management of the House, transcending party lines, and emphasized his respect and leadership.
What did Prime Minister Narendra Modi say in praise of Om Birla ?
Prime Minister Modi said that Om Birla is an excellent Lok Sabha Speaker. He is completely dedicated to the Constitution and has deep respect for the parliamentary system. Today, he transcends party lines, standing above both the government and the opposition. When I see him in the House, I often think that perhaps this is the effect of coming from a city of education. He manages the House like a capable leader, taking everyone along.
PM Modi said that he handles all our MPs very well in the House. He respects their requests and sentiments. He is a Speaker who respects MPs immensely. Even when some arrogant, spoiled students from high-class families come and refuse to give up their aggressive habits, he still manages everyone as the head of the House. He doesn't disrespect anyone. He even tolerates them. The PM said that he enjoys listening to everyone's tough points. Perhaps that's why he is so well-liked in the House.
Opposition brought no confidence motion against the Speaker
PM Modi's response follows a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, signed by 118 MPs. The second phase of the Budget Session begins on March 9. Three Congress MPs are planning to introduce a motion demanding the removal of Speaker Birla. They accuse him of preventing Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders from speaking in the House. Congress members Mohammad Javed, Kodikunnil Suresh, and Mallu Ravi have accused the Speaker of favoring his own party and making baseless allegations against women members of the opposition.
Birla suspended opposition MPs for the entire parliamentary term for raising public issues, but members of the ruling party were not reprimanded for insulting the former PM. In response to this incident, the BJP and the opposition Congress have issued a three-line whip to their Lok Sabha MPs, requiring them to be present in the House from March 9th to 11th.
