BCCI suddenly changed the schedule of IPL 2026, rescheduled the matches of Chennai Super Kings.

IPL 2026 Schedule Changed: The BCCI has made a major change to the schedule for IPL 2026. Only two matches have been relocated.

 


A major change has been made to the IPL 2026 schedule. Due to the upcoming Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections, the venues and timings of two IPL 2026 matches have been rescheduled. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that due to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections, the Chennai Super Kings vs. Gujarat Titans match scheduled for April 26, 2026, will now be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

These changes happened
The Chennai Super Kings vs. Gujarat Titans match was originally scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on April 26th. However, due to the municipal elections scheduled for April 26th, the venue has been changed to Chennai. The match will begin at 3:30 PM on April 26th.

Meanwhile, the match between these two teams, which was originally scheduled to be played in Chennai on May 21st, has been relocated to Ahmedabad. The Chennai vs. Gujarat match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21st. The match will begin at 7:30 PM.

Apart from these two matches, the schedule of no other matches in IPL 2026 has changed. It’s worth noting that the BCCI previously released the full tournament schedule in two separate phases. The schedule was first released until April 12th. The remaining schedule was released after the dates for the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Kerala were announced.

Looking at the points table so far in IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals remain at the top after winning all four of their matches. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans are having a less than favorable season so far. CSK have managed just one win in four matches and are in ninth place in the points table. Gujarat currently sit fifth.
