Apple may launch a touchscreen MacBook Pro this year.

This year is going to be a very special one for Apple's MacBook lineup. Apple, which has avoided introducing touchscreen MacBooks for several years, may make a big splash this year. According to recent reports, the company is planning to make the biggest change to its MacBook Pro lineup this year. The company is expected to launch a touchscreen MacBook Pro in the next few months. Featuring an OLED display panel, this MacBook Pro will also feature a dynamic island design similar to the iPhone.

Apple will use OLED panels for the first time.

This MacBook Pro, launching this year, will feature Apple's first OLED display panel. Until now, the company has offered mini-LED panels in even its most expensive laptops. OLED display panels will deliver deeper blacks, improved contrast, and color accuracy. It's speculated that OLED panels may be used in both the 14- and 16-inch variants. The upcoming MacBook Pro's design won't change significantly, but its chassis is expected to be slimmer and more refined.

MacBook will come with an iPhone-like dynamic island

Another major change in the upcoming MacBook Pro could be the Dynamic Island. The company could replace the notch found on the current model with a hole-punch camera area, which would expand to become an interactive Dynamic Island. It could display alerts, background tasks, music controls, and other system updates.

macOS is also being updated

The company is also updating macOS for the touchscreen MacBook Pro, making it touch-friendly. After the update, menu items and screen controls will expand slightly when touched. Similarly, they will also support fast scrolling. Despite providing touchscreen support, Apple will not market it as a touch-first device like the iPad. Even with the touchscreen, users will still be able to use a keyboard, trackpad, and mouse. By providing new features, the company aims to add flexibility to its use.
