A Chinese AI robot is a wonder! It runs like a human and breaks the world marathon record.

AI Robot In China: The fastest performance in this race was given by a robot which was prepared by the Honor company.

AI Robot In China: Until now, AI was considered limited to mental tasks, but now machines are beginning to rival humans in physical strength as well. A half marathon race in China changed this perception. More than 100 humanoid robots participated in the 21.1-kilometer half marathon in Beijing, the capital of China.

These robots ran the race alongside humans, although the tracks were separate for a fair comparison. Surprisingly, many robots not only completed the race but also achieved excellent timing.

The robot won

The fastest runner in this race was a robot developed by Honor . This robot completed the race in just 50 minutes and 26 seconds, while the fastest human runner crossed the finish line in 1 hour and 7 minutes and 47 seconds. However, experts say this comparison cannot be directly compared to humans, as the conditions were different.

Big improvement from last year

Last year, in a similar race, several robots lost balance or stopped midway. However, this time, technology saw significant improvements. Most robots demonstrated improved balance, speed, and stamina, completing the race without much trouble.

Powered by AI and sensors

About 40% of the robots were fully autonomous, meaning they used sensors and AI to navigate, balance, and adjust their gait. Robots operated by remote control were given a time penalty, with additional time added for battery replacement.

Challenges still remain

Despite this impressive performance, robots are still far from perfect. Even the winning robot lost some balance near the finish line, suggesting the technology still needs further refinement.

How did human-like gait develop?

Engineers designed these robots to mimic human movements. The length and structure of their legs are designed to provide a more efficient gait, similar to that of professional runners. Furthermore, a liquid cooling system is also used to help them manage heat during long runs.

a glimpse of the future

This race clearly demonstrated how rapidly AI and robotics are advancing. However, real-world tasks still pose challenges for robots, especially those requiring rapid decision-making and adaptability to changing circumstances.
