Following GST, the Indian government has now given a new gift to poor women. According to information released by the Petroleum Ministry last Monday, the government will provide additional free LPG connections to 2.5 million poor women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Under this scheme, the Indian government has now provided LPG connections to a total of 105.8 million people. This work has been progressing even faster since 2021. Documents required to apply
To apply for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, it is very important for you to have the following documents -
- Aadhaar Card (eKYC) of the female beneficiary
- BPL ration card/poverty line certificate
- Bank Passbook / Account Number
- Passport size photo
- Residential Certificate (Ration Card / Voter ID etc.)
How to apply?
You can apply for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 online or offline. To apply, follow the steps below.
How to apply online?
- For online application, first of all you have to visit the official website of your LPG company (eg – Indane).
- After this, go there and click on the option of New Ujjwala Yojana 2.0.
- An application form will then open. Fill in your required details and upload the required documents.
- Then click Submit. After submitting the form, download it and submit copies of all documents to the nearest gas dealer.
- After 10-15 days, free gas stove and cylinder will be installed at your home.
How to apply offline
- To apply offline, first go to your gas agency and get the application form of Ujjwala Yojana.
- After this, fill in your name, address, Aadhar card number, information about other family members, bank account number, BPL card/ration card number.
- Then go to the nearest gas agency and submit this form.
- After this, document verification will take place and LPG connection will be provided to your home free of cost.
