Where is Chauth Mata Temple located?
The temple of Chauth Mata is located near a town called Barwada in Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. This temple was built in 1451. The temple is situated at an altitude of thousands of feet.

What is the history of the temple?
The temple of Chauth Mata was built by Raja Bhim Singh. It is said that Goddess Charu Mata had appeared to King Bhim Singh Chauhan in his dream and ordered him to build the temple. When the king went out hunting, he found the statue of Chauth Mata. With this he returned to Barwada and with the advice of the priests, the statue was installed on the mountaintop of Barwada on Magh Krishna Chaturthi. Every year a fair of Chauth Mata is organized in the temple on this day.

It is said that married couples are blessed with special blessings in the temple. Here on the occasion of Karva Chauth, married women come to pray for the protection of their husbands. Chauth is the form of Mata Devi Gauri. Worship of Mata Gauri brings blessings of unbroken good fortune.

How to reach Chauth Mata Temple
The unbroken flame has been burning in the temple for years. It is included among the 11 famous temples of Rajasthan. To reach here, one will have to go to a village called Barwada, 35 km away from Sawai Madhopur city. One can avail of the facility of a private car, bus or taxi to reach here. To reach the temple complex one has to climb about 700 steps.
