Lohagad Fort
Maharaja Suraj Mal envisaged an impregnable fort, under which the condition was that it should cost less money and be unmatched in strength. Raja Saheb had a deep discussion on this subject with the ministers, courtiers, and scholars, it was decided to build a fort keeping in mind the means of war and their firepower, as a result of which strong doors on both sides of the fort with pointed iron doors were installed. At that time, the prevalence of cannons and gunpowder was high, due to which the strongest walls of forts could be easily demolished. That's why first the fort's wide-high strong stone ramparts were made, now hundreds of feet wide raw mud wall was made around these walls and hundreds of feet deep and wide below, so that they don't have the effect of cannonballs. A moat was made and water was filled in it, so that after the cannonballs fired by the enemy on the walls, they die by sinking into the soil if they strike downwards, then the water becomes calm and it is difficult to cross the water and climb the flat wall. Not only was it impossible. In difficult times, by closing the doors of the fort, the soldiers used to make the entire fort easily impenetrable by taking front only behind the concrete walls and on the doors. The fort in which not even an iota of iron was used was called Lohgarh on the strength of its impregnability. The one who soured the teeth of the enemies from time to time and forced the enemy to convince his iron. Such was the visionary king of Bharatpur.
