Hawa Mahal
On hearing the name of Rajasthan, a picture of Hawa Mahal is formed in the mind of the people. Hawa Mahal is an important part of Rajasthan's identity. It is the most popular tourist spot in Pink City, which means 'Palace of the Winds'. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. It has more than 950 windows. This palace is made of red and pink sandstone and this palace is made like a beehive.
Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal located in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the list of seven wonders of the world. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. This is also the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a classic example of the fusion of Indian, Persian, and Islamic architectural styles. Its construction work started in 1632. Thousands of craftsmen, artisans, and stonecutters worked in it for 21 years and in 1653 the Taj Mahal was completed. The tomb of Mumtaz Mahal located here is the main attraction of the Taj Mahal. This mausoleum made of white marble rests on a square foundation. It is under the arched dome and can be reached through a curved gate.
Gateway of India
The Gateway of India is a gate located opposite the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. Combining Hindu and Muslim architecture, the foundation stone of the Gateway of India was laid on 31 March 1913 by the Governor of Mumbai. This monument was built for the arrival of King George V and Queen Mary. It was completed in 1924. The Gateway of India was opened by the Viceroy on 4 December 1924.
Red Fort
This fort was established during the middle of the 17th century. The fort was built by Ustad Ahmad, the construction of this fort started in 1639 and continued till 1648. However, additional work on the fort was started in the middle of the 19th century. This huge fort is made of red stone which is one of the grand palaces of the world. The fort is spread over an area of 2.41 km, and the main gates of the two forts are the Lahore Gate and the Delhi Gate. Lahore Gate is near Chatta Chowk which was built for the royal families.
Mysore Palace
There is a lot of crowds of tourists in this palace. In the evening, lights are lit in this palace, which increases its beauty. This palace is also known as Amba Palace. Along with the palace, there is also a five-story tower 44.2 meters high, whose dome is made of gold. It was built by the Wadiyar kings in the 14th century. It used to be the residence of the Wadiyar Maharajas. The Mysore Palace is a wonderful fusion of classical, oriental, and Roman art.
Victoria Memorial
One of the most famous places to visit in Kolkata is the Victoria Memorial, which is a unique blend of European architecture and Mughal forms. A tribute to the British Raj in India, the Victoria Memorial is one of the most spectacular monuments in India. Spread over 64 acres, it is a domed structure made of white marble. It was opened to the general public in 1921, it also houses some photographs of the royal family. Sanchi Stupa
Sanchi Stupa is a famous tourist place located in Sanchi village of Madhya Pradesh, about 46 km away from the Bhopal city. There are three stupas here and it is one of the best-preserved stupas in the country. The first Sanchi Stupa was built in the 3rd century. Its height is about 16.4 meters and its diameter is 36.5 meters. The second stupa was built in the 2nd century AD and is situated on the range of a hill on top of an artificial platform. The third Sanchi Stupa is located near the first Sanchi Stupa and has a crown on top of a semicircular dome which is decorated with a very ancient style. It is considered a friendly place. All three Stupas of Sanchi are considered World Heritage Sites and are currently under UNESCO.
Golden Temple
The Golden Temple is a central religious place for the Sikhs. The Golden Temple is also a symbol of equality in all religions. Everyone, irrespective of caste, creed, or race, can come without any restriction. It is located in Amritsar. This temple is decorated with about 500 kg of gold. Thousands of devotees reach this temple almost daily. This temple was destroyed by the Afghan invaders in the 19th century. After this, Maharaja Ranjit Singh rebuilt it and decorated it with a layer of gold. For this reason, it is called the Golden Temple.
