Shardiya Navratri is starting from 15th October. Nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped on nine days of Navratri. Maihar Devi Temple
There is a famous and ancient temple of Maihar Mata in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. This temple is situated on top of Trikuta hill. Maihar Devi Temple is considered one of the 52 Shaktipeeths. It is said that the necklace of Mata Sati had fallen here, hence the temple was named Maihar. More than 1000 stairs are built to reach this temple. However, to reach here, cable car (trolley) and taxi service are also available for a few kilometers. There is a crowd of devotees here on every occasion including Navratri.
Chausath Yogini Temple
There is a popular temple of Mata in Bhedaghat of the state, named Chausath Yogini Temple. This temple was built around the 10th century. It is said about this temple that 64 Yoginis reside here along with Goddess Durga. The temple is open for devotees from 7 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
Bijasan Mata Temple
One of the famous Durga temples present in Madhya Pradesh is Bijasan Mata Temple, which is located in Indore. This Durga temple, situated on the mountains at a height of about 800 feet of Indore, is very crowded on the occasion of Navratri. Every day lakhs of devotees from far away places come to Bijasan Mata Temple for darshan. A fair is organized around the temple and the temple premises are decorated like a bride.
Kalika Mata Temple
There is Kalika Mata temple in Ratlam district of MP, which is a form of Maa Durga. There is a belief about this temple that it is a miraculous temple. It is said that the devotee who stands in front of the idol of Mata Kalika starts accumulating a special kind of energy in his body. Every day thousands of devotees come here to have darshan and get the blessings of the mother. On the occasion of Navratri, a fair is organized around Kalika Mata Temple.
Shri Mandhare Mata Temple
The holy temple of Mata is also situated in the beautiful city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Mandhare Mata Temple is quite ancient. This temple is situated on Cancer Hill in the Kampu area. It is said that one's wishes are fulfilled by having darshan of the Mother Goddess here and praying with a true heart.
