The reflection of the lamps falling in the water looks like twinkling stars. The melodious sound of Mahaarti is heard echoing in the entire Ghat. Har ki Pauri
Har Ki Pauri is one of the prominent places of Haridwar. Har ki Pauri means the feet of the Lord. Lord Vishnu is believed to have appeared here and there is also a stone footprint of the Lord on Hari Ki Pauri. From this ghat, the Ganga leaves the mountains and turns towards the plains. Parad Shivling
Parad Shivling Harihar Ashram of Kankhal, located 2 km from Haridwar, is very famous. A 151 kg Shivling made of pure mercury has been established here. Lakhs of devotees come here every year. There is also a Rudraksha tree here which is the center of attraction among the devotees.
Chandi Devi Temple
This temple situated on Neel Parvat is dedicated to Chandi Devi. This high-altitude temple is not only a center of worship but is also popular among travelers for trekking. Bharat Mata Mandir is also known as Mother India Temple. This temple is dedicated to Mother India and it is the only temple in the country where the idol of Mother India is worshipped. This temple was built by Swami Satyamitranand in 1983 and was inaugurated by Indira Gandhi. This temple is 108 feet high and has a total of 8 floors. Each floor has idols and photos of different deities and freedom fighters.
