Akshardham Temple
Akshardham Temple is built in the Gandhinagar area of Ahmedabad. Akshardham Temple is considered to be one of the major cultural centers of Gujarat. This temple was established in 1992. This temple dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan houses his 7 feet tall golden idol. The intricately carved walls of this temple have pink stone which shines in the sunlight during the day. Apart from visiting this temple, adorned with lush green trees and plants, a large number of people also come to visit. There is a proper arrangement for children to play in the gardens here. Apart from this, the beautiful waterfalls and lakes here attract tourists. Jagannath Temple
It is said about the construction of this temple that about 150 years ago Lord Jagannathji came in the dream of Mahant Narsinghdasji and ordered that his temple should be established here along with his brother Baldev and sister Subhadra. In the morning, Mahantji told the villagers about this dream and everyone happily accepted it and performed the Pran-Pratishtha of Lord Jagannath with great pomp. As soon as Lord Jagannath was enthroned, the beauty of the area increased. The attractive idols of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadraji, and Goddess Subhadra captivate every devotee who comes here. Thereafter, the Rath Yatra taken out on the day of Ashadhi Beej since 1878 has now become a part of the tradition here. During this time, the temple is also specially decorated. The devotees who participate in the Rath Yatra consider themselves lucky. With the echo of Jai Ranchhod, Makhanchor, there is a continuous stream of devotees coming here from far and wide to have the darshan of Lord Jagannath. Vaishno Devi Temple
It is located on Gandhinagar Road and is one of the best temples in Ahmedabad. This temple is a replica of Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir. It is built on a man-made hill and one has to climb the hill to visit this temple. You must visit here during the Navratri festival. All the nine days of the festival are celebrated here with great enthusiasm. There is also a Tirupati Balaji temple nearby, which you can visit while going to this temple.
Dada Bhagwan Temple
This temple of Ahmedabad is also known as Adalaj Trimandir. It is located in Adalaj village, about 20 km from the city. It has been constructed by the Dada Bhagwan Foundation. It is a large two-story temple decorated with white marble and has idols of Tirthankaras, Ajitnath Bhagwan, Rushabhdev Bhagwan, Mahavir Bhagwan as well as Shasha Devi, Padmavati Devi, and Chakreshwari Devi. It also has a large hall with multiple cameras and projectors for satsang activities. The hall has a capacity of more than 500 people. It also organizes puppet shows on its premises. Apart from this, facilities like bookstores, AC and non-AC rooms, and Ayurveda medical dispensaries are also available for pilgrims.
Haathisingh Temple
This Jain temple was built in 1848 and is dedicated to Dharmanatha (the fifteenth Jain Tirthankara). Apart from this, there are 52 sub-temples in the courtyard dedicated to various other Tirthankaras. There are large raised verandahs on the three outer sides, decorated pillars, and sculptured brackets. The front entrance has a 78-foot-deep temple.
ISKCON Temple
The ISKCON temple in Ahmedabad is the best place to experience spirituality. This temple is also known as Hare Krishna Temple.
