Taj-ul-Masjid, Bhopal
The Taj-ul-Masjid, the largest mosque in India, was built in several parts over a long period of 141 years. It is also one of the largest mosques in Asia. Shah Jahan Begum, the wife of Nawab Syed Siddiq Hasan Khan, started its construction during the reign of Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. After this, his daughter Sultan Jahan Begum took this work forward. It was built first from 1844 to 1860 AD and then from 1868 to 1901 AD. But due to a lack of budget, the work stopped. The one above had accepted something else. In 1971 Allama Mohammad Imran Khan Nadvi Azhari and Syed Hasmat Ali Shah started its construction again. This work was completed in 1985.

Jama Masjid Delhi
Jama Masjid is one of the very famous mosques in India and the world. The real name of this mosque is Masjid-e-Jahan Numa. Built by Shah Jahan in 1956, this mosque can accommodate around 25,000 persons. The minaret made of red sandstone and marble is 135 feet high making it the largest mosque in India. About 10 lakh rupees were spent on the construction of this mosque. The mosque was built with red stones and white marble.

Jama Masjid, Agra
The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan paid a lot of attention to construction work during his time. An example of the same is the Jama Masjid of Agra. Shah Jahan got this mosque built in 1648 AD in memory of his elder daughter Jahan Ara. This mosque is also called 'Jami Masjid'. The arches of the western wall of the mosque are very beautiful. Because of the attractive view of this mosque, it is compared to the 'Baitul-Mamur' mosque made of pearls and rubies present in the seventh heaven.

Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad
One of the oldest and largest mosques in India, the Mecca Masjid was built in 1694 with clay and bricks exported from Mecca. The 75 feet high mosque can accommodate 10,000 people at a time. The mosque is located near the historical sites of Chowmahalla Palace, Lad Bazaar, and Charminar. It was built by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah. Twenty thousand people can offer Namaz at a time in this mosque.

Jama Masjid, Ahmedabad
The mosque was inaugurated on 4 January 1424 AD by Ahmed Shah, the first Sultan of the Gujarat Sultanate. The mosque was also built on the wishes of Sultan Ahmed Shah. Its domes are like lotus petals. In the western part of the mosque are the tombs of Ahmad Shah, his son, and grandsons. This mosque was badly damaged in the earthquake in 1819 AD. Both the big minarets of the mosque fell in this earthquake. This mosque is also called the 'Zuma Masjid'.

Jamia Masjid, Srinagar
Built-in Nowhatta, the old area of Srinagar, you will find this mosque to be a Buddhist building from a distance. The Jamia Masjid was built between 1394 and 1402 AD during the reign of Sultan Sikandar. This mosque is one of the most famous tourist destinations of Srinagar. Jamia Masjid has been at the center of Kashmir's politics for the last several years. This mosque also contributes somewhere to the political activities in the Taral area of Kashmir.
