But these days there is another place which remains the first choice of tourists. This place is situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet and the view is so beautiful that tourists are attracted here. This is Sethan village situated in a thick layer of snow amidst dense forests. Sethan village is located in the Hamta Valley of Himachal. It is situated at a distance of about 13 km from Manali. There are only 20 houses in this small village.
Here tourists can see the majestic Dhauladhar ranges from Sethan as well as the Vyas river flowing at the foot dividing the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges. Sethan village is also famous by the name of Igloo House. Tourists come here in large numbers to spend their holidays in igloos made of ice. Tourists enjoy staying in igloo houses even at -15 degrees Celsius. The bed inside the igloo will also be made of ice. There are arrangements for everything from food to adventure games etc. Only during winter can skiing, snowboarding, and igloo stays be enjoyed. The best time for these activities is mid-January to April.
The breathtaking beauty of Sethan will inspire anyone to explore this place more. Sethan offers several day treks that are ideal during summer and just before the winter season (June to November). One of the more popular and multi-day treks is the Hampta Pass Trek. Hampta Pass is the base camp of Sethan on the trek. However, during winters when the entire route is laden with snow, the trek has a different level of beauty.
