This is Sethan village situated in a thick layer of snow amid dense forests. Sethan village is located in the Hamta Valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at a distance of about 13 km from Manali. There are only 20 houses in this small village.
Here tourists can see the majestic Dhauladhar ranges from Sethan as well as the river Beas flowing at the bottom dividing the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges. Sethan village is also famous by the name Igloo House. Tourists reach here in large numbers to spend their holidays in igloos made of snow. Tourists enjoy a lot by staying in the Igloo house even at -15 degree Celsius. The bed inside the igloo will also be made of ice. Everything from food to adventure games etc. is arranged here. Skiing, snowboarding, and igloo stays can be enjoyed only during winter. The best time for these activities is mid-January to April.
The breathtaking beauty of Sethan will surely inspire anyone to explore more of the place. Sethan offers several day treks that are ideal during the summer and just before the winter season (June to November). One of the more popular multi-day treks is the Humpta Pass trek. Hampta Pass is the base camp of Sethan for the trek. However, during winters when the entire route is covered with snow, the trek takes on a different level of beauty.
How to reach Sethan village
One can take a taxi from Manali to Hamta which is 15 km away. Along with it, Senthan village seems to be there. You will get a taxi for Rs.1000 to Rs.1500. If the road is closed due to snow, then it can be reached by traveling 12 km on foot from a place called Prini, three kilometers from Manali.
