People like to go on a trip on New Year. North India is wrapped in a blanket of fog at this time. In such a situation, people prefer to go to the seashore instead of the mountains. To get relief from the harsh winter, beaches shining with gold attract everyone. In such a situation, as soon as the thought of beach comes to mind, we think of Goa, whereas our country has a 7,516 km long coastline which starts from Gujarat in the west and goes up to Bengal in the east. Many islands are also included in this. In such a situation, why do we think of going only to Goa? Goa is packed with tourists at this time of the year. Being a traveler rather than a tourist, I always think of going to a place where I have never been before. This time I thought of watching the first sunrise of the New Year from the East Coast. I reached Utkal beach. Have you ever heard the name? Yes, this beach falls in the state of Odisha.

Utkal Beach of Odisha
Golden sand and blue water are its identity. Though there are many beaches in Odisha, I have reached a beach that has many other attractions around it. This beach is located just 3 km from Konark towards Puri, Ramchandi beach. This beach is a calm sea shore away from the crowd. The way to reach this beach is also very beautiful.

A road has been built recently along the seashore from Puri to Konark, which is called Marine Drive. The length of the drive is 35 km, and beautiful trees are standing in a row on both sides of this road as if someone has decorated the gates to welcome us.

On one side of this drive is the city and on the other side is the sea. While going from Konark to Puri, there are many unseen beaches on the Utkal coast, in which the first is Ramchandi beach, and after that comes Chandrabhaga Beach. Then comes Puri Beach.

Chandrabhaga Beach is the cleanest beach in Asia

In the year 2018, Chandrabhaga Beach received the Blue Flag award for being the cleanest beach in the whole of Asia. Sunrise and sunset can be seen on this beach. If measured on the meter of hustle and bustle, then there are fewer people on Ramchandi Beach, there is a decent crowd on Chandrabhaga and there is a huge crowd on Puri Beach. Local people come here more on weekends.

Famous places to visit around the beach

Visited Lord Bhaskar on the first day of the year. Today's whole day was going to be spent in various water sports activities on this beach. There are arrangements for boating, water surfing, kayaking and swimming here. I have seen almost all the beaches of the country but I have not seen a beach more beautiful and clean than this. Its location makes this beach holiday worth the money. The UNESCO heritage site Konark Sun Temple and Lord Jagannath Temple are also located at a distance of just a few kilometers. If you have a week, then plan a holiday to Bhubaneshwar-Puri and Konark and if you have two to three days, then Konark and beach holiday can also be planned.

Enjoy the resort on the beach

If you want to enjoy a beach resort, then Odisha Tourism has set up a magical city of 70 tents called Eco Retreat on Ramchandi Beach. These glamping sites are state-of-the-art luxury tents where holiday arrangements have been made keeping the family in mind. I spent the night in one such tent. There are tents of different categories here. I took the Royal Tent which was as big as a flat in itself. It includes drawing, dining, dressing room, and bedroom.

Spend the night in a tent on the beach

No one can even imagine that the sea would be rippling just 10 steps away from a wall of cloth and you would be relaxing in your soft bed. This feeling is as thrilling as it is, it also creates a shiver inside. I was coming from a very far place, so I dred to think more. Therefore, I slept covering my face. The sound of the sea waves kept ringing in my ears the whole night. I was not worried because outside my tent, on the watch tower, people were keeping a close watch on the waves of the sea, keeping a close watch on its every movement. Just like it is done on a big ship. Therefore, I left my worries slept peacefully, and woke up before sunrise to welcome the first rays of the morning.
