Kumari Amman Temple, Kanyakumari
There is an idol of Maa Bhagwati Durga in the sanctum sanctorum of Kumari Amman temple located in Kanyakumari. Here Brahmacharis and Sannyasis are allowed only till the temple gate. While married men are barred from entering the temple premises. It is believed about this temple that Mother Parvati had performed penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. Only women can enter the temple. Here the female form of Bhagwati is worshipped.
Chakkulathukavu Temple, Kerala
This is another temple located in Kerala dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. In this temple, men are not allowed to enter during a specific time of the year. Here Nari Puja is conducted every year during the first Friday of December where the male priest washes the feet of all the female devotees who have been fasting for 10 days. This day is called Dhanu and on this day only women can enter the temple. On this day women gather in large numbers to worship.
Rajarajeshwari Temple, Bihar
The Rajarajeshwari temple of Muzaffarpur in North Bihar is generally open for devotees throughout the year. But there comes a time in between when men are prohibited from entering here. At that particular time its head priest, who is also a male, is not allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum. This temple is dedicated to Raj Rajeshwari Devi. This temple is counted among the major Shaktipeeths of Bihar. Lakhs of people gather in this temple during the time of Navratri. The form of the Goddess sitting in this temple is of Shodashi i.e. sixteen-year-old girl. According to ancient texts, Shodashi Devi is considered to be the fourth place among the ten Mahavidyas. His mantra is also of 16 letters only. This goddess has sixteen arms. This mother is also known as Tripura Sundari. The statue of Goddess Shodashi located in Muzaffarpur temple of Bihar is made of gold. It is believed that Shodashi Devi Kumari is a girl. She menstruates for 4 days in a month. During this time no man can enter the temple.
Kamakhya Temple, Assam
The Kamakhya Temple located in Assam is a Shaktipeeth. This temple is counted among the main temples of the country. This Shaktipeeth is the only temple in the country where men are not allowed to enter the temple during certain times of the year. The grand Ambubachi fair is organized every year at this Shakti Peetha temple situated amidst the hills of Nilanchal in Guwahati, Assam. The main gate of the temple is closed for four days during the Ambubachi fair. It is believed that the vagina of Goddess Sati fell at this place, due to which the Shaktipeeth was formed. During the Ambubachi fair, the goddess has her period of menstruation. On this occasion, men are prohibited from entering the temple premises for four days. During these days only female priests perform all the religious rituals of the temple.
Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, Kerala

Santoshi Mata Temple, Jodhpur
Although both the temple and the fast of Santoshi Mata are for women, men also visit this temple. There is a huge temple in Jodhpur which holds mythological recognition. However, if we look at the historical story of the worship of Santoshi Mata, it became more popular only in the 1960s, not before that. Women are allowed to perform special puja on Friday in the temple of Santoshi Mata and only women observe this fast. In the fasting stories, the story of Satyavati, a devotee of Santoshi Mata, is told. Men are not allowed to go here on Fridays. Although this prohibition is only for one day, still it is considered necessary.
