The most religious place in Madhya Pradesh is Ujjain, which is called the city of Mahakal. Lord Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is situated in the city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Ujjain is mentioned in the Puranas and ancient religious texts by the name of 'Ujjayini' and 'Avantikapuri'. Mangaleshwar, the birthplace of Mars, is also located here. Its name is derived from 'Omkar' which is the name of Lord Shiva. Along with Lord Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Amaleshwar Jyotirlinga is also established in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Both these Shivlingas are counted in the same Jyotirlinga. Omkareshwar Tirtha is supernatural, the person who reaches this pilgrimage and does food donation, penance, worship, etc., or dies, gets a place at the feet of Shiva. Amarkantak

Amarkantak is one of the pilgrimage sites in Madhya Pradesh, surrounded by the outstanding beauty of the Vindhya and Satpura ranges. This destination is known as the origin of two great rivers of India, Narmada and Son, which attract thousands of tourists every year. This holy city boasts many attractions and is home to many ancient temples of the Kalchuri period. It is also renowned as a pilgrimage center and Siddha Kshetra. Amarkantak is a part of Rikshaparvat, one of the Saptakul mountains mentioned in the Puranas. Amarkantak has many temples and ancient sculptures, which are said to be related to the Pandavas of the Mahabharata.

Sanchi
Sanchi, one of the Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Madhya Pradesh, is famous for the oldest stone structures in India. The Buddhist monument at Sanchi symbolizes the vast heritage of culturally rich India. The great stupa located here was established by Emperor Ashoka of the Maurya dynasty in the 3rd century BC. The stupas of Sanchi were built as houses of Lord Buddha and many important Buddhist relics. This place is surrounded by lush green gardens on all sides, which provides a different kind of joy and peace to the tourists coming here.

Dewas Wali Mata


The historical ancient temple of Chamunda Mata and Tulja Bhavani Mata is established on a hill in the city of Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. Devotees from far and wide come here for darshan. The mother, known as Dewas Wali Mata, is known here in two forms Chhoti Maa and Badi Maa Tulja Bhavani and Chamunda Mata. Badi Maa is called Tulja Bhavani and Chhoti Maa is called Chamunda Mata.

Bhojpur

Bhojpur is located on the banks of the Betwa river in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. Here, Parmar King Bhoj built the Bhojpur temple and installed a Shivling. This temple is also called the Somnatha temple of North India. The huge Shivling installed here is the largest Shivling in the world, whose length is 5.5 meters (18 feet) and diameter is 2.3 meters (7.5 feet). A Jain temple is also located here, in which the idol of Lord Parshvanath Suparshvanath is installed. Parvati cave and the Samadhi Sthal of Acharya Matunga are on the premises of this temple.

Pitambara Peeth

Maa Pitambara Siddha Shakti Peeth is established in Datia city of Madhya Pradesh. The Goddess seated here changes her form 3 times a day. The wishes of the devotees coming here are fulfilled just by seeing the Mother. A crowd of people seeking royal power can always be seen in the court of Goddess Pitambara who destroys enemies. Many devotees secretly perform special worship and Yagya here to fulfill their wishes. To date, the prayers of the devotees coming here have not gone in vain.
