Bindu Sarovar
Bindu Sarovar, located about 130 km from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, is one of the holy lakes of India. This Sarovar is present near Rudra Mahal Temple and Arvadeshwar Shiva Temple. It is said about this lake is also mentioned in Ramayana and Mahabharata, apart from this, it is believed that Bindu Sarovar originated from the tears of Lord Vishnu. For your information, let us tell you that it is one of the five holy lakes of India. Lakhs of Shiva and Vishnu devotees come here every year to take a bath.
Pampa Sarovar
Pampa Sarovar is a famous tourist spot located in Koppal, Karnataka. According to the story, at this place Goddess Pampala, another form of Mother Parvati had done penance to Lord Shiva. And this is also the place where Shabari waited for the arrival of Lord Rama. Hence Pampa Sarovar is considered one of the sacred lakes of India as per Hindu mythology.
Pushkar Sarovar
Pushkar Lake, 14 km from Ajmer city of Rajasthan, is also said to be the most sacred in Hindu civilization. This lake is associated with Lord Brahma. This is the only place in the country where the only temple of Lord Brahma is built. It is believed that Apsara Menaka used to bathe in the water here. According to the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna did penance in Pushkar itself. Lord Rama also performed the Shradh of his father Dasharatha in Pushkar. At this place, Lord Brahma performed Havan from Kartik Shukla Ekadashi to Purnmasi. Due to this, Kartik's fair is organized here every year.
Manas Sarovar
Mansarovar Lake is a very beautiful place that is situated at a distance of 20 kms from Mount Kailash at an altitude of 20,015 feet. Let us tell you that this lake is a symbol of purity, about which it is said that by taking a bath in this lake, a person gets freedom from all the sins committed in his life. Mount Kailash along with Lake Mansarovar has a historical significance of its own. According to Hindu mythology, Mansarovar Lake was first created in the mind of Lord Brahma, due to which it got its name Mansarovar. According to Hinduism, Mount Kailash was the place where Lord Shiva used to reside and hence this place is considered heaven. It is said about the lake that its color keeps changing. The color of the lake is blue near the shores which turns green in the center.
Narayan Sarovar
Narayan Sarovar in Kutch, Gujarat is a sacred lake as well as a holy religious place for Hindus. There is a belief about this lake that at this place Lord Vishnu appeared in the incarnation of Narayan. That's why it is known as Narayan Sarovar. The temples around it are also called Narayan Sarovar Temple. This fair is also organized during November and December. For your information, let us tell you that apart from these four holy lakes, the fifth holy lake is Pushkar Lake, which is present in the Pushkar city of Rajasthan.
Nainital Lake
As soon as we think of Nainital Lake, the idea of a pear-shaped lake comes to our mind. According to local legends, the eyes of Goddess Sati fell at this place itself, hence it is considered a religious place. Nainital Lake is not only a holy place of Nainital in Uttarakhand, but it is also a major tourist destination of Nainital. According to legends, it is said that once the sages saw that the Naini lake had completely dried up, they filled it by bringing water from Mansarovar here. Naini Lake was filled with the water of Lake Mansarovar and since then it came to be known as Mansarovar. Pilgrims who cannot visit Lake Manasarovar come to Nainital to seek the blessings of Naina Devi.
