Kota is a city in Kota district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated on the banks of the Chambal River, 240 km south of the state capital, Jaipur. It is the headquarters of the Kota district. It is the third largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur and Jodhpur. Raja Kotia Bhil had established Kota.

City Fort Palace

Jagmandir Palace
This palace was ruined by a queen of Kota in 1740 AD. Built in the middle of the beautiful Kishore Sagar Lake, this palace was a place of enjoyment for the kings. The reflection of the palace in the thick water of the lake looks very beautiful. Prince Dhi Deh of Kishore Sagar Lake had it built in 1346 AD. Boating can also be enjoyed in the lake.

Government Museum
This museum is located in the Brij Vilas Palace built in Kishore Bagh near Kishore Sagar Lake. The museum has a wide collection of rare coins, manuscripts, and selected Hadoti documentation. Some temples and historical sculptures from the temples of Barauli are kept here. The museum remains open on Fridays and national holidays.

Chambal Garden
It is a beautiful scenic spot and the tiger pond can be seen here. This garden is located near the Chambal River and Amar Niwas.

Devtaji Ki Haveli
The idol of Devtaji is one of the most suspicious conditions in Rajasthan. It is famous for the wonderful photography and painting of Kota.

Dara Wildlife Sanctuary

Keshav Rai Patan
Shri Keshav Rai ji is the presiding deity of the rulers of Hadoti and Hada. Keshoripatan is the abode of Lord Shri Keshav. Medieval temple of Shri Keshav It is situated on the banks of the Chambal River. The temple wall towards the river is like a fort wall. A large number of devotees visit the fair organized in the month of Kartik. On this occasion, devotees come to the Chambal River and seek the blessings of Shri Krishna. Keshav Rai Patan is a place 22 km northeast of Kota.

Geparnath Temple
The Geparnath temple dedicated to Shiva is situated on the banks of the Chambal River, 22 km southwest of Kota. This temple was built in 1569 AD. This place has been a major pilgrimage center for Shiva devotees since ancient times. Some ancient records have been found here which confirm this fact. In the year 2008, a shocking incident shook the hearts of the entire Kota residents. About 250 people who had gone to visit the Shiva temple were trapped inside due to the breakage of the stairs. The administration worked hard and got the boys out in 2 days. There are about 470 steps in Geparnath. There is a deep depression of about 350 meters.

Bari
There are many ancient temples built here between the 9th and 12th centuries. This place is a holy religious place of Hindus surrounded by Charan, Mango, Jumbo, and Peepal Chowk. Ghateshwar is the main temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The auditorium of the temple, especially the pillars, has attractive carvings. Mahishasuramardini and Tridev Temple are the other two major temples. Some of the idols of these temples are kept in the Government Museum of Kota.
