Wildlife sanctuary
Spread over an area of 70 square kilometers, Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the famous tourist places in Idukki. Situated at an altitude of 450 to 748 meters, the sanctuary is spread across the rivers Cheruthoni and Periyar which conserves a variety of wildlife species. Idukki Dam
About 2 kilometers from Idukki Bus Station, the Idukki Arch Dam is the second arch dam in the world and the first in Asia, built across the Periyar River in the Kurvan and Kurthi hills. The 550 feet high and 650 feet wide dam is located near Cheruthoni Barrage. According to legend, Lord Rama cursed two natives when he saw them bathing Sita. It is said that those two natives were Korvan and Kurthi who were converted into stones. Then both of them begged Lord Rama for mercy on opposite banks of the Periyar River as they were never separated. Lord Rama blessed them so that they would be together for years to come. And, today, the Idukki Arch Dam is connected by two hills, Koravan Mala and Kurthi Mala. The Underground Power House is located in Mudumattam.

Hill View Park
Hill View Park is one of the most visited and visited places in Idukki City. Located at a distance of about 1 kilometer from the city, this place is known for its spectacular views.
