Sawan is starting from 22nd July. Sawan month is the favorite month of Lord Bholenath. Shiva and Mother Parvati were married in this month. Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Ujjain
Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Mahakaleshwar, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is considered to be one of the most sacred incarnations of Shiva. This temple is situated on the banks of the Shipra River. Bhasma Aarti takes place at 4 am in Mahakal. To participate in this, it is necessary to register in advance at the Online or Temple Office.
Men have to wear dhoti for Bhasma Aarti, while women get entry in saree. There is a provision of Prasad and worship in the temple premises. Booking can be done in advance for special worship.
How to reach
The nearest airport from Ujjain to reach Mahakaleshwar Temple is Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, which is in Indore. The distance from here to Ujjain is 58 km. Ujjain Railway Station and Bus Stand are also near the temple.
Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Khandwa
The Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga temple is located in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. This temple is situated on the banks of the Narmada River and its sky is like Om. It has a place among the twelve Jyotirlingas.
How to reach
The distance of Omkareshwar from Indore airport is about 77 km. The nearest railway station is Omkareshwar Road Railway Station, which is about 12 km from the temple. Khandwa can also be reached by road. For the journey, first, you can reach Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga in Ujjain. After darshan here, you can leave for Khandwa, for which Omkareshwar can be reached from Mahakal in about two and a half to three hours by road.
Expense
The train fare from Delhi to Ujjain or Indore can be around two thousand rupees. From here you can travel by bus or taxi according to your budget. Taxi from Mahakal to Omkareshwar will be booked for two to three thousand rupees. You can get a room in Dharamshala, a cheap homestay or hotel for around Rs 500. For the darshan of both the Jyotirlingas of Madhya Pradesh, you can spend around 6 to 9 thousand rupees in a period of two days.
