Kasmar is a place where Holi is not celebrated for many years, not today. The folklore behind not celebrating Holi is that about 100 years ago a daughter of a king died on the day of Holi. Not only this, but soon after this incident the king also died. It is believed that before his death, the king told the people not to celebrate Holi. Since then Holi is not celebrated here. Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand
There are two such villages in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, where Holi is not celebrated for 150 years. The people of Quili and Kurjhan villages believe that the local goddess Tripura Sundari does not like noise, so the villagers refrain from celebrating noisy festivals. Explain that Rudraprayag is the meeting place of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, hence it is also called Sangam Sthal. Tourists visit Koteshwar Mahadev during their visit to Rudraprayag. The Dhari Devi temple dedicated to Goddess Kali is also very famous here.

Kaithal, Haryana
Holi is not celebrated even in Guhalla Cheeka village of Kaithal, Haryana. Here 150 years ago, a puny baba of the village used to live. Some people made fun of him on the day of Holi. Due to this Baba got angry and jumped into the fire of Holika Dahan. However, before dying, he cursed the villagers that whoever celebrates Holi here after today, his family will be destroyed. Since then Holi is not celebrated in this village. It is said that when the villagers apologized to Baba, he said that if in the future, on the day of Holi itself, when a son is born here and the cow gives birth to a calf on the same day, then this curse will end. But so far such a coincidence has not happened. In the village, the fear of curse is such that people here do not even wish each other a Happy Holi.

Ramsan, Gujarat
Ramsan alias Rameshwar village of Gujarat is not celebrating the Holi festival for more than 200 years. The name of this place was earlier Rameshwar and later became Ramsan. It is related to Lord Rama and according to local belief, Lord Rama visited here during his lifetime. It is believed that more than 200 years ago Holika Dahan was done here due to which the fire spread to the entire village. Most of the houses were burnt and people stopped celebrating Holi after that. Since then, Holika Dahan has never happened in this village. There is also a belief that the king here got angry with the saints for not burning Holika. The saint got angry and after that, he cursed that the whole village would be set on fire on the day Holika Dahan would take place here. The effect of this curse can be seen even today and people believe that the celebration of Holika Dahan and Holi festival has been stopped.

Durgapur, Jharkhand
In Durgapur village of Bokaro, Jharkhand, people have not celebrated Holi for the last 100 years. It is said that the son of the king here died on this day and before his death, the king had ordered his subjects not to celebrate Holi. Since then Holi is not celebrated here. Even if someone wants to play Holi here, he has to go to another village.

Multai, Madhya Pradesh
Holi has not been celebrated for 125 years in Dahua village of Multai tehsil of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. Local people say that about 125 years ago, on the day of Holi, the head of this village drowned in the stepwell, due to which he died. The villagers were deeply saddened by this death and fear settled in their minds after this incident. Now not playing Holi has become a religious belief here.
