Uttarakhand is called the land of gods. But there is also a village here where Hanuman Ji is not worshipped. This village is located at an altitude of about 12 thousand feet above sea level in Chamoli district. Yes, we are talking about Dronagiri village located about 50 kilometers from Joshimath in Chamoli district. The villagers here are still angry with Ram Bhakt Hanuman. Therefore, Bajrang Bali Hanuman is not worshipped in this village, but the Dronagiri mountain located near the village is worshipped as a deity. You will not find a temple of Hanuman Ji anywhere in this village. Wherever Hanuman Ji went, that place became famous for being a big pilgrimage site, but on the contrary, there is also a place in India where worshipping Hanuman Ji is considered a sin. You must have been shocked to hear this but it is true, in this village of Uttarakhand, if people are found worshipping Hanuman Ji, they are also expelled from the community. Even hoisting a red flag is prohibited in this village.
This is the reason
The villagers worship the Dronagiri mountain located near the village as a mountain deity. It is said that in the Treta Yuga, during the Ram-Ravana war, when Laxman fainted, Hanuman came to Dronagiri village to get Sanjivani booti on the advice of Sushen Vaidya. Due to not being able to identify Sanjivani Booti, he took away a large part of the Dronagiri mountain. Since then, the villagers have been angry with Hanuman Ji.
Sanjivani booti was made from the seeds of Shabri's discarded berries
Prateek Mishra Puri, an expert on religious beliefs, says that it is mentioned in many places in the religious story that Sanjivani booti was made from the seeds of Shabri's discarded berries. The people of Dronagiri being angry with Hanuman is also justified because if Dronagiri mountain was completely here today, then perhaps the village would have been more prosperous.
Shri Ram's feet fell in Dronagiri
There is a mythological belief that the place where Lord Shri Ram came to Dronagiri village is today known as Ram Patal. Lord Ram is the idol of everyone in Dronagiri village. The people of Dronagiri village worship the entire land of Ram Patal area like a temple, so here also the people of the village have decided that when Ramlala's Pran Pratishtha is done in Ayodhya, then Lord Shri Ram will be worshipped in every house of the village.
Why do people not eat anything given by women in the puja?
Special worship of Dronagiri Mountain is done every year in June. Apart from the villagers, local people who have settled in other states also come to participate in the puja. Nothing given by the hands of women is used in this puja. It is said that when Hanuman ji reached here to get Sanjivani booti, he saw an old woman. When he asked that woman about the place of Sanjivani booti, she pointed towards Dronagiri mountain. Hanuman ji could not identify the Sanjivani booti and took away a large part of the mountain. After knowing this, the villagers boycotted the old woman. Even today, the people of this village do not eat anything given by women on the special worship of Parvat Dev.
