The mercury has risen a lot in many cities of the country including the capital Delhi. In such a situation, people are troubled by the scorching sun and intense heat. To get relief from the humid heat, people are going on a journey with the desire to spend some time at a hill station away from their cities. For those living in Delhi, some hill stations of Himachal and Uttarakhand are very close, the journey can be completed in a few hours. Out of these hill stations, most tourists come to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand in summer, where they can participate in many adventure activities, as well as feel relaxed in the evening on the banks of the Ganges.

Apart from this, Shimla, Kullu Manali, and Mussoorie are also among the most popular hill stations for tourists in summer. The temperature in these hill stations is much lower than in Delhi, as well as beautiful natural views are seen. Due to popularity, Rishikesh, Shimla, and Manali become very crowded in the summer.

Due to too much crowding, the traffic system gets disrupted. Long traffic jams occur, and hotel rooms are either not available or are expensive. Hence, visiting these hill stations during peak season is a waste of time, fuel, and money. However, if you have to visit these hill stations to get relief from the heat, then know on which day you should not travel here at all and what to do and what not to do for a comfortable journey.

Do not come at peak time

Do not visit hill stations during peak times, such as in the morning or afternoon. Traffic increases during peak times. Therefore, start your journey at night so that you can reach it before the traffic increases in the morning.

Check hotel booking

Book hotels online in advance so that you do not face the problem of not getting a hotel room after reaching your destination. Apart from this, you will not have to waste time searching for a hotel in the heat after reaching the hill station. While booking a hotel, you will also know the location of the tourist spots and when it can be crowded.

Stay away from the crowd

While booking a hotel, do not choose places that are in the center of the hill station i.e. the main area. Most tourists stay at such places. In such a situation, there can always be a problem of crowds and traffic jams in the evening or morning and your relaxing holidays can be disrupted. Try to take a hotel at some distance from the main place so that you can spend time in a peaceful environment away from the crowd.

Know the traffic situation

You can see the traffic on Google Maps at the time when you are on a journey. By keeping an eye on the traffic, you can avoid getting stuck in any jam situation. If you see a red sign on any road on Google Maps, then you can stop at some other place and spend time or stay there, so that you do not have to get stuck in a jam.

Which day not to go

If you want to go to a hill station to get relief from this heat, then instead of going on a weekend or a holiday, you can go on other days of the week. The crowd increases more on Saturdays and Sundays or on any holiday than on normal days. If you go at such times, you may get stuck in a traffic jam and waste your time. There may be no relief from the heat but the crowd and noise of vehicles can bother you.
