The Great Buddha Dordenma Shakyamuni Buddha statue is located which is one of the tallest Buddha statues in the world. The height of this statue is about 169 feet (51.5 meters). Punakha/Punakha Jong
Punakha Dzong, located in the city of Punakha in Bhutan, is considered to be the largest and most prominent Buddhist temple in Bhutan. The Buddhist temple and monastery were built in the year 1637 at the confluence of two major rivers of Bhutan, Pochu, and Mochu. This temple and monastery were built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal for editing liturgical works. Tourists reach this Buddhist temple and monastery only through a very beautiful bridge made in traditional style on the river and this bridge is a scenic spot in itself.
