Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a Gujarat tour, where he visited and offered prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple. During this, PM Modi also went underwater in the deep sea to see the submerged city of Dwarka. Pictures and videos of PM Modi doing scuba diving are going viral on social media. Seeing these pictures, tourists are now eager to visit Dwarka located at the foot of the sea.
However, this is not the first time that after the picture of PM Modi's visit to some place has surfaced, curiosity about tourism there has increased in the country and abroad. At the beginning of the year, PM Modi was on a visit to Lakshadweep, when he shared his photo while walking on the beach, Lakshadweep became famous among the people as an emerging tourist destination. Even before this, PM Modi has shared his picture while visiting places like Kedarnath, and Gangtok and has promoted tourism in these places. Let us know which places Prime Minister Modi visited before Dwarka and helped in promoting tourism there.
Dwarka under seawater
Lord Krishna, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, killed Kansa, but Kansa's maternal uncle and father-in-law Jarakandh kept attacking Mathura again and again. To protect the people from these attacks, Shri Krishna established a city in the middle of the sea in Gujarat, which was named Dwarka City. It is believed that after Shri Krishna left for his abode, the city of Dwarka also drowned in the sea. Its remains ended up in the Arabian Sea.
For devotees and tourists, the Dwarka temple of Shri Krishna is situated on the ground surface, to visit which people come from all over the country and abroad, however, the floating Dwarka city under the sea can be seen through scuba diving. But not everyone can reach here because the Archaeological Department is conducting studies and there is no permission for tourism.
Lakshadweep
At the beginning of the year 2024, PM Modi went to Lakshadweep, whose pictures went viral as soon as they appeared on social media and people started comparing Lakshadweep with Maldives. People who wish to go to Maldives can see views like Maldives in Lakshadweep in India itself. Last year the number of tourists visiting Lakshadweep was around 25 thousand, but this year tourism has increased after PM Modi's visit to Lakshadweep.
Kedarnath Cave
Before the results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi had gone to Kedarnath, where a photo of him meditating in a cave of Kedarnath was revealed. Soon this cave became the choice of tourists. By October 2019, all the bookings for visiting the cave were done and tourism was promoted year after year. This cave is at an altitude of 12 thousand feet above sea level, where there is provision for Wi-Fi, phones and beds.
