European imperialism in the world began in the late 15th century when Christopher Columbus set out on his sea voyage with the help of Spain, after which Portugal, Britain, France and Netherlands also set out to enslave many countries. From the 16th to the 20th century, these powerful countries captured many countries outside Europe. However, there are many countries in Asia which could not become slaves of these European powers. Some of these countries are in India's neighborhood.

Japan is included in the list of those select countries of Asia which could never be enslaved, although this country always had the fear of colonialism. In the year 1905, Russia fought a war with Japan in which the Japanese won. Japan also participated in the Second World War, it had to pay a heavy price for it, but this country still did not come under the control of any European country.

Thailand was earlier known as Siam. Its king Chulalongkorn adopted many European customs. The Nepal Army fought a war with the British from 1814 to 1816, which is also called the Khorkha War. Although the British East India Company had a larger army, they were able to capture 30 percent of the area, but the hilly areas there continued to create problems for the British. This was the reason why the British kept most of Nepal free. They were also impressed by the spirit of the Gorkha soldiers.

Saudi Arabia never came under the control of European countries, earlier it was ruled by tribal leaders, but from the 16th century to 1918, the Ottoman Empire ruled here.
